ADAM KLEIN
Klein’s literate songwriting and active years of touring pre-pandemic and fatherhood have earned accolades from Americana and folks press, multiple albums on the Euro Americana chart, an official performance at Folk Alliance, and shared stages with a long list of revered songwriters and bands including James McMurtry, Josh Ritter, Steep Canyon Rangers, Shovels & Rope, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, Okkervil River, and more.
Klein’s records have featured a who’s-who of talented musicians from Athens and beyond, including producer, engineer, drummer, and vocalist Bronson Tew, producer David Barbe, Randall Bramblett, pedal steel maestro John Neff, David Blackmon (Widespread Panic, Jerry Reed), Lera Lynn, and Carlton Owens (Cracker).
Adam Klein is based in Atlanta, Georgia, having gravitated there from Athens. In the early part of this century, Klein spent a couple of years volunteering with the Peace Corps in West Africa. Klein found himself working in the Segou region of Mali, where he absorbed its musical and storytelling traditions. In 2010, he managed to raise enough money to travel to Mali’s capital, Bamako, where he recorded 12 songs, often in one take, with some of the country’s best musicians. The resulting record entitled ‘Dugu Wolo’ was released via Klein’s independent label, Cowboy Angel Music. There are many Western musicians who have recorded with their Malian counterparts, but Klein is probably the first to write and sing in Bambara, the language spoken by six million people. Klein is a versatile character, not only has he released eight albums, but he’s also an actor having appeared in a number of films and television series.
‘Dugu Wolo’ aside, Klein’s previous releases had mainly covered fairly traditional singer-songwriter topics, but with his 2023 album ‘Holidays In The United States‘, he produced a, not always easy to listen to, classic, which details some uncomfortable truths. The album was a reaction to the killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks and many others, and the general racial injustice which still exists in America. It includes the epic, seven-minute-long ‘I-20’, which ends with Klein singing what seems to be an almost interminable list of people of colour killed by the police or who’ve died as the result of racially motivated crimes. The album ends on an optimistic note with ‘Bright Rails Shine’, a song Klein has called “a hymn to the promise of America”.
‘Holidays In The United States’ provides a twenty-first century template of what protest music should sound like. It will be interesting to see where Klein goes next, hopefully on to bigger and even better things.

EDDIE KESLER
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie Kesler has been a multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter the majority of his life. He started out as a drummer playing in bands touring up and down the east coast playing stages like the famed CBGBs in New York and The Cannery in Nashville. All along playing guitar, writing songs and eventually taking up the mandolin to play in several popular bluegrass and acoustic bands over the last 20 years. Finally, after culminating a pretty thick songbook spanning many years, Kesler decided it was time to start laying them down in a solo effort he calls Eddie Kesler & 3/4 Time.
He's since released two separate solo albums in his name. The latest, "What's a Song Worth" has climbed up both the Alt Country Twang & RMR Americana and Country charts throughout summer and fall of 2022 to #5 and #6, respectively on the latter. WASW also scored the #1 Roots album for multiple weeks in his home state of Georgia. The album has been spinning on over 150 stations around the USA and worldwide. The single "Meet Me at the Bar" off the album made it to #4 on the independent country charts.
Kesler tries to do good things with his music as well. All the proceeds of the albums go to charity. The proceeds from the first release in 2017, "Wingman", goes to the American Heart Association in honor of his late father. The latest release, "What's A Song Worth", all monies goes to NAMI.org for mental heath and suicide awareness.
