Get your copy of the Cabbagetown Cookbook

Our good friends at the Cabbagetown Community Initiative have created something that belongs in the kitchens of every Cabbagetown resident, and many beyond our borders: The Cabbagetown Cookbook.

The cookbook cover was illustrated by Cabbagetown local Kyle Bidlack.

The compilation of recipes from over 70 Cabbagetown residents aims to “peel back the layers of generations, occupations, musical variations, & artistic preoccupations” to present an  “incredibly rich cornucopia of recipes that feed the heart of this historic community in Atlanta.”

The cookbook accomplishes its goal, perfectly capturing the culinary spirit and diversity of Cabbagetown with recipes for everything from party favorites like jello shots to southern classics like Miss Lilla’s Banana Pudding. The cookbook showcases plenty of chili recipes in honor of our beloved annual Chomp n’ Stomp as well as a plethora of recipes to help you eat your cabbage, a true homage to our history.

Chili and cabbage aside, the cookbook has a little something for everyone, boasting gluten-free options (chocolate cake!) and vegan friendly snacks (kale chips, anyone?). You can show off with a healthy Lentil Chicken Bok Choy Salad with Carrot-Chili Vinaigrette or dive into a comforting bowl of Lacy’s Chicken-n-Dumplings.
